If you are reading this, then I should be off and running at the Leatherwood Ultramarathon 50K trail race. And for this race, running is a relative term. With the amount of climbing in this race (9684 feet over 31 miles), the ratio of running to walking/crawling/slithering will be lower than for a typical race. But that is fine. I will do whatever it takes.
My plan is to…….. well, I don’t really have a plan. Except to finish.
Like the ghost of Christmas Past/Present/Future, you will be visited by the ghost of Timbeaux every hour that I am out there (almost). I have set up this blog to automatically post some timely information during the race today. But just so you know, these posts were written before I actually started. This is not real time blogging! I don’t think I would have the energy or the laptop to accomplish that feat.
So what can you do?
- Pray. I will definitely need some help.
- Walk outside. Face the direction I am in. Yell “Geaux Timbeaux!!!”
- Visit my donation site and donate to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
- Pray some more.
- Then Jump Around!
Other than that…….it’s time to bring on the pain!
