I have at least 10 conversations a month about how fast time is flying by these days. As an engineer, I know time never speeds up. Sixty seconds is still a minute no matter how it feels (interval training….uggghh). But overall life seems to be accelerating rapidly.
Lara and Logan got married on December 30th, which feels like it was only a couple of weeks ago. It has been almost two months now! Only two days from now it will be MARCH! And if you blink seven times and spin around in a circle, the next day will be July. That is how fast time appears to be going.
But this weekend, we all decided to stop time for a bit so we could be together.
At present, Lara & Logan are living in Shreveport. Logan has a full time job and Lara is finishing up her second year of medical school. Mason & Juliana are in college in North Carolina (where they do not understand being off for Mardi Gras). And Christine & I both work and are in the middle of a self imposed DIY kitchen remodel. Life is very busy.
But this weekend was Mardi Gras in New Orleans and everyone was there! We made it to several parades and spent Saturday night at the Endymion Ball catching beads (some with my face), listening to KC & the Sunshine Band and KISS, and generally have a great time!
I know as the kids get older, there will be fewer times that we can all be together. But somehow we will keep stopping time so we can all enjoy this blazing fast life together.
