For those of you that are not young ones, you probably remember the Heinz Ketchup commercial and the famous Anticipation theme:
It seemed like the ketchup would never pour out of that bottle! Of course, in the age of instant gratification that would never survive these days. And from that came the squeeze bottle. I want it and I want it now!
That is how I feel about my running right now. My leg feels fine. I should be able to go for a run without any problems. It has to be fully healed because I haven’t run on it in almost two weeks! Right? Right? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
I am rapidly approaching the point where I am getting twitchy. You know how horses get when they are in the starting blocks for the Kentucky Derby. They have so much adrenaline coursing through their veins they are ready to bolt! Okay, maybe I’m not that ready, but it is getting close!
This week I will go for a couple of test runs. Nothing too far and nothing fast it all. It will be more like some long walks with a few short jogs in the middle. I don’t have time to be down again so I am going to ease back in gently. Until then I feel a lot like this dog.
Anticipation is definitely making me wait.
