Underwater

If you have been trying to contact me lately, I have been underwater.  I am still underwater.  I will be underwater until at least July 18th.  Why July 18th?  Because that is the last day of the Long Course State Swim Championship.  That meet will end a stretch of 8 swim meets in about 7 weeks….hence my current underwater location.

Every year during this part of the summer we switch to blur mode.  We wake up not knowing what day of the week it is much less what planet we are on.  The only thing that is a constant is the smell of chlorine.  And oh what a lovely smell that is.

Now don’t get me wrong, I love watching the kids swim.  They work their butts off and it shows.  This past weekend we went to Austin for a long course swim meet.  Mason had a phenomenal meet and added three more state qualifying times to the four he already had.  On top of that, he picked up two 15-16 qualifying times which gives him a head start for next year.  Impressive performance to say the least.

This week we get to spend some time at the luxurious LSU natatorium for the summer swim league championship.  Happy happy joy joy!  After spending 3 days at the University of Texas pool, the LSU natatorium is more like spending time in a public junior high school gym.  Pretty sad for a college the size of LSU.

It may be a while before I get to post something again.  This was a brief attempt to come up for air.  I am still trying to run and workout, but it is in between everything else.  Hopefully the seas will part soon and I will be back to dry land.
